Position Summary: Responsible for leading and executing audits focused on Corporate Treasury functions including Asset Liability Management (ALM), interest rate risk, and liquidity risk management. The ideal candidate would be able to assess interest rate and liquidity risks, evaluate investment portfolios, review financial modeling software, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, execute, and report on audits with a focus on corporate treasury functions including interest rate and liquidity risk.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and compliance with applicable regulations (OCC, Dodd-Frank Act, FASB).
  • Collaborate with business units and risk management teams to identify and assess emerging risks.
  • Prepare clear, concise audit reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to inform audit planning and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, financial mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, compliance, risk management with a focus in corporate treasury functions.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Advanced analysis, judgment and problem resolution skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, manages multiple priorities and meets deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of management and staff.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of how assets (loans, investments) and liabilities (deposits, wholesale funding) interact and how mismatches affect profitability and stability.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing capital and liquidity, such as Basel III, and familiarity with OCC and Federal Reserve regulatory expectations regarding interest rate risk.
  • Familiarity with fixed-income markets, equity, alternative investments, and derivative instruments.
  • Proficiency in analyzing Net Interest Income (NII) forecasting, Economic Value of Equity (EVE), duration/funding gaps, and stress-testing under varying interest rate scenarios.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CFA)
  • Experience working with, or auditing, treasury and ALM systems (e.g., Imperium, Calypso, Bloomberg, FactSet).
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, or advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to handle large datasets to verify stress-testing inputs and assumptions like loan prepayment speeds or core deposit rate sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in AI and data analytics.
