Vectra Bank is looking for a highly motivated Commercial Banking Relationship Manager who thrives in a relationship driven environment and is energized by business development. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, confident, and committed to delivering exceptional client experiences. This individual will join a respected, high-performing team of commercial banking professionals and will play a key role in driving growth throughout the Denver market. Essential Functions
- Manages high-end corporate customers' business needs and strategies, provides financial counseling, advice and expertise in complex loan structuring and strategic business planning.
- Satisfies clients' needs by cross selling appropriate products and designing a value driven package of products and services utilizing a full array of bank services.
- Develops new relationships internally and externally.
- Approves and/or recommends loan packages within assigned limits.
- Manages credit portfolio, maintaining acceptable credit quality and loan profitability.
- Maintains and enhances personal knowledge of bank products and services as well as the laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures appropriate to the position.
- Proactively develops and maintains a network of centers of influence (attorneys, CPAs, commercial real estate professionals, and business owners) to generate new commercial banking opportunities and increase market presence.
- Acts as the primary relationship manager for middle-market and commercial clients, providing strategic financial advice and delivering customized banking solutions.
- Partners closely with Treasury Management, Private Banking, Wealth Management, SBA, and other internal teams to deepen client relationships and deliver comprehensive financial solutions.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their business objectives, industry trends, growth strategies, and succession planning needs.
- Develops and executes an annual business development plan focused on portfolio growth, client retention, and profitability objectives.
- Represents Vectra Bank within the community through industry associations, networking events, community involvement, and civic organizations.
- Maintains a strong pipeline of prospective clients and consistently achieves established loan, deposit, fee income, and relationship growth goals.
- Collaborates with credit partners to structure complex commercial lending solutions while maintaining prudent risk management standards.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree and 10+ years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus extensive knowledge of other related fields
- Extensive knowledge of credit associated lending, financial strategy, and customer development.
- Commercial Credit Analysis and presentation experience
- Perceptive character judgment
- Ability to expand client relationships and product sales.
- Strong sales ability
- Ability to structure loans and monitor credit performance.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of applicable lending policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
- Knowledge of software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets
- Proven track record of sourcing, developing, and closing new commercial banking relationships.
- Established network of business contacts and referral sources within the Denver metropolitan market preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing commercial relationships with annual revenues ranging from $10MM to $100MM+.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate, C&I lending, owner-occupied real estate financing, treasury management, and deposit gathering strategies.
- Ability to balance business development objectives with sound credit judgment and portfolio management.
- Self-directed professional with a high level of initiative, accountability, and entrepreneurial drive.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to effectively communicate and build credibility with business owners, CEOs, CFOs, and other key decision makers.
- Experience working in a relationship-focused banking environment emphasizing client advocacy, collaboration, and local decision making.
Compensation
This position offers a base salary range of $150,000 to $200,000 annually, commensurate with job-related factors such as experience and geographic location, and includes eligibility for an incentive plan. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, expertise, location, education, and certifications.
