Intern – Automation & Application Developer, Treasury Management
Full Time Paid Internship, Summer 2026
Mid May – Mid August
In-Office: Salt Lake City, Houston, Boise, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver, or Los Angeles

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a skilled and motivated intern to join the Treasury Management team and support technology‑driven projects that enhance internal tools and employee productivity. Responsibilities may include designing and improving Microsoft 365 solutions, building custom applications with Power Apps, developing automated workflows using Power Automate, and creating scripts and utilities in Python to streamline business processes. This role provides hands‑on experience with modern automation and digital‑workflow platforms and is ideal for a candidate who is curious, adaptable, and passionate about learning new technologies.
Responsibilities Include:
- All stages of technology solution development including design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance
- Solution development using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and SharePoint Online
- Business process analysis to identify opportunities for automation and optimization
- Integration between various internal systems and Microsoft services
- Collaboration with business line managers, front-line professionals, and developers from around the organization to create intuitive and robust applications
- End user support by troubleshooting issues related to scripts, workflows, and applications
- Ensure solutions follow security, compliance, and best-practice coding standards
- Other duties as assigned

Ideal Qualifications:
- Current, upper division student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other related degree
- Must be creative, innovative, and a self-starter capable of effectively working virtually
- Capability in Python and/or other programming languages, with experience using standard libraries and writing clean, modular code
- Experience working with AI tools or agents to support automation, process improvement, documentation, or solution development
- Strong understanding of core computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, APIs, version control)
- Agile development methodologies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $20.00 to $25.00 hourly depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
