Regional Manager (Banking) – North San Diego, CA

CB&T is looking for a seasoned Regional Manager to lead our retail and business banking efforts in North San Diego.  This role reports to the Executive Director of Core Banking and is responsible for 13 bank branches (direct reports) with large books of business deposits and loans. This role requires extensive visibility and an active management style in the assigned territory to support our sales efforts in North San Diego and its surrounding communities. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the activities of a major bank region or segment. Reviews and recommends departmental objectives, goals and procedures. 
  • Mentor and monitor branch managers and their staff regarding service levels, sales goals, quality of work produced, and involvement in the community. This role is responsible for staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations. 
  • Responsible for pipeline, P&L, sales management, production, and ensuring individual, team and market goals are met. 
  • Ability to leverage internal partnerships for business development opportunities and sales activities to ensure loan, deposit, and fee income objectives are met. Participating in various project teams and strategic planning work.
  • Ability to recruit, manage/develop talent, and build/maintain a cohesive team. 
  • Ensure adequate staff and procedures are in place for effective operations. Recommend and implement effective departmental policies and procedures to remain in line with industry trends, market needs and bank objectives. 
  • Ensure compliance with all related legal requirements and banking regulations. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field and minimum 5+ years business lending experience including 8+ years managerial experience preferred. Expert knowledge in banking or a unique market segment of banking is required.  A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

  • Local travel will be required to manage multiple locations.  This role may sit at a San Diego hub or branch. Hybrid/Remote options limited. 
  • This position will be required to sit in Torrey Pines at our CB&T HQ. Territory includes Temecula, Palm Desert thru La Jolla/Scripps Poway with several locations in between.  
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred.  Must have ties to local business communities and knowledge of the North San Diego market is required to be successful in this role. No relocation will be offered for this position. 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills.  Experience working in a collaborative, “can-do”, true partner environment is essential.
  • Effective negotiation and written communication skills. 
  • Remote management experience is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking systems and principles, theories, and concepts. 

This position is eligible to earn a base salary with a range of $185,000 - $225,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
